A rosin component used in aqueous cleaning solutions. Technical grade.

Used in object conservation to reduce copper and iron staining. Available in granular form. NH₄HCO₃

Ammonium Citrate

Dibasic formulation. Used in object conservation to clean rust and iron strains from metal and stone. Available in granular form. (NH₄)2HC₆H₅O₇

Ammonium Hydroxide AR

Armeen CD and Ethomeen

Armeen CD has found use as one component of the gelled solvent cleaning technique. It is considered a severely corrosive alkaline liquid and must be handled with care. Protect your skin with gloves and your eyes with a shield or goggles.

Ethomeen C/12 has found use as one component of the gelled solvent cleaning techniques.

Although Ethomeen C/25 is less hazardous to handle than Armeen CD above, we still suggest that you wear a face shield or goggles to protect your eyes from this alkaline liquid. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. Ethomeen has found use in gelled solvent cleaning techniques.

Benzotriazole

BTA dissolves in water or ethanol. One use is under Incralac to prevent the absorption of free copper.

Benzyl Alcohol

An aromatic alcohol solvent of high solvent power and high boiling point which has found use in the gelled solvent cleaning techniques. C₆H₅CH₂OH

Bicene

Also known as N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl) glycine. C₆H₁₃NO₄

Used in gel cleaning applications as a thickening agent for solvents.

Carbowax 4000

Polyethylene Glycol = Molecular Weight 3000-3700

Often used as a consolidant for wet objects such as wood or bone due to it's water solubility. Melting point is 130°F(54°C). Sold in bead form.

Chloramine-T

A mild bleaching agent used in paper conservation for defoxing.

Citric Acid, Reagent

Many applications in object conservation for the cleaning of metal stains and corrosion. Available in granular form. HO₂C(HO)C(CH₂CO₂H)₂

Deoxycholic Acid (Free)

Available in powder form. C₂₄H₄₀O₄
