| Lascaux 360 HV is a water dispersion of butyl methacrylate copolymer and thickened with butyl polyacrylate. 360 HV is water thinable, but is not reusable or dispersible in water after drying. 360HV films are soft, tack and elastic. They are resoluble in acetone, toluene and xylene, but not soluble in Stoddard Solvent, mineral spirits or naphtha. 360 HV is extremely elastic and the dry film remains permanently elastic. Thus it can be used as a contact adhesive when doing hot seal linings. Simply apply 360 HV to the new canvas, let dry and press onto the back of the old canvas. The adhesive layer can be additionally solvent activated by a light spraying with toluene. This new lining can easily be dry peeled from the old canvas. |

| Adhesive 498HV is also a water dispersion of a butyl methacrylate copolymer thickened with butyl polyacrylate, but in the case of 498HV, the basic copolymer is a bit harder and slightly less tacky in the dry film. The dry film is elastic, hard and not tacky. 498HV has the same solubility parameters as 360HV and is most suitable for wet or dry (solvent reactivated) linings. |

| Adhesive 498-20X is the same product as 498HV except that it is thickened by the addition of 20% xylene to the water dispersion of butyl methacrylate copolymer rather than with butyl polyacrylate. The film properties and solvent parameters for 498-20X are identical to those of 498HV. 498-20X adhesive is especially useful for strip linings. |

Mowilith 20 pr Polyvinyl Acetate AYAB
The Retouching Medium is a 50% solution of Mowilith 20 (the same as polyvinyl acetate AYAB) in an ethanol/acetone 7/3 mixture. The dry film is resoluble in ethyl alcohol containing 5% water, acetone or toluene. It is not soluble in Stoddard Solvent, mineral spirits of VM&P Naphtha. Polyvinyl acetate AYAB has an unsurpassed binding power to hold dry pigments. Mixing is ordinarily done directly on the palette. If you wish to dilute the Retouching Medium, Lascaux suggest the addition of 10 to 30% of Cellosolve or diacetone alcohol, both of which are nicely compatible with the solvents of the Medium but also retard slightly the drying of the Retouching Medium. | Hydrosealer 750 is a water dispersion of fine pure acrylic resin. The solids content of the dispersion is 30% and the pH is 9-10. Hydrosealer 750 is used as an impregnation sealer for the consolidation of crumbling grounds. It is also used for the consolidation of loose paint layers, cracked or chipped paint. |
